Cost of this certification program is $299.00 and includes the “Commercial Pool Technician Handbook", a certificate suitable for framing and a laminated wallet card.

At the conclusion of the program you will take a test of 50 questions. Failure to achieve a passing grade of 70 will result in test failure, and you must wait 24 hours before retaking the test. You may retake the test at no charge. You must certify that you will not receive any assistance when taking this test.

Course Objectives-Certified Pool Technician™ Course

• Review Dept. of Health regulations regarding water quality, operations, construction, modification, safety, and supervision.

• Calculate pool/spa size, interior dimensions, capacity, volume, water flow rate, water turnover rate, bather attendance and other factors necessary for Department of Health compliance.

• Differentiate between the types of filters and the appropriate use and maintenance of each type.

• Identify suction side components and discharge side components and their functions in the pool/spa circulation system.

• Identify factors affecting water chemistry balance and treatments for unbalanced water.

• Recognize properties and effectiveness of chlorine-based and alternative sanitation systems.

• Demonstrate proper water testing techniques by testing for pH, sanitizer, total alkalinity, calcium hardness and cyanuric acid.

• Recognize the unique properties of spas and the resultant maintenance requirements.

• Assess the pool and surrounding environment for cleanliness, safety, and maintenance needs.

• Recognize the need for renovation/remodeling and the methods used that will result in a longer-lasting facility.

• Prioritize potential hazards to the pool environment as to the probability of happening and impact.

If a regulatory agency should reject the CPT certification as valid, we will issue a complete refund upon return of the book, certificate, wallet card and a copy of the written rejection by the regulatory agency. No refund will be issued if you have completed the course and have received your continuing education credits or CPT certification unless rejected by a regulatory agency.
